There are some places in this business that carry a little extra magic, and Skywalker Ranch is definitely one of them.

I recently had the opportunity to spend the day at Skywalker Ranch working on music for Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland, with some incredible musicians from the San Francisco Symphony. As someone who grew up loving John Williams, Star Wars, and orchestral music, getting to be inside that world and watch this music come to life was pretty surreal.

I was there as part of the music production team, working on the orchestral scores and helping support the recording process. There's something I absolutely love about the moment when all the work that happens on the page finally gets put in front of an orchestra. Suddenly, all of those notes become a room full of musicians breathing, reacting, and making music together.

And what a room full of musicians this was. 90 of them!!!!

Hearing the San Francisco orchestra play this music at Skywalker Ranch was a real "pinch me" moment and one of those wonderful reminders of why I fell in love with orchestral music in the first place. The level of musicianship was extraordinary, and getting to experience it in a place with so much film-music history made the whole day that much more special.

Not a bad day at the office.
